Position Title: Department Head, Disaster Risk Assessment and Monitoring (DRAM)

The Department Head-DRAM reports to the Director in charge of the department and is a member of the Executive Committee of ADPC. He/She will be responsible for an overall management of the department, including program/project management, department strategy development, technical resource inputs, and management of staff in the respective department. Note: It is not the intent of this Position Description to cover every aspect of the position requirements, rather to highlight the most important areas of personal and joint responsibility.

The Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), established in 1986, is a regional non-profit foundation with headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand supporting the advancement of safer communities and sustainable development, through implementing programs that reduce the impact of disasters upon countries and communities in Asia and the Pacific. The primary geographical focus of ADPC’s activities is Asia with the South, South East and East Asia being the primary sub-regions. ADPC has more than 26 years of working experience in Asia along with the national and local Government of its charter member countries as well as countries of the Regional Consultative Committee (RCC) on Disaster Management. This topic aligns with the cross-cutting theme of 2025 GPDRR “Accelerate action for our collective sustainable future” and priority of global risk science research framework “Harness technologies, innovations, data and knowledge for risk reduction”. The innovations presented in this workshop will be shown in the YYP Innovation Lab at 2025GPDRR.

The 2025 Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Weeks (HNPW 2025) event was successfully concluded in Geneva, Switzerland. In this two-week high-level event, IRDR co-organized a session with Peaceland Foundation and MAP-AQ entitled: “Strengthening Anticipatory Action: Inclusive Approaches to Global Disaster Resilience Building”.
