IRDR partner AUEDM links to "Visions and voices for a new global disaster framework" for WCDRR

“Unlike other global frameworks (such as the Millenium Development Goals), awareness on the disaster risk reduction framework (HFA) has been limited, especially at the sub national and local level. In the run-up to HFA 2, this needs to be put in the right light. This campaign (Visions and voices for a new global disaster framework) bridges the gap between civil society and world leaders; getting communities to emphasize what they want to see in the new framework. It looks at the success stories of HFA 1 with messages of what worked best in preventing, reducing and bouncing back stronger from disasters. It also attempts to de-mystify and widely circulate the concepts in HFA 2 to improve understanding primarily among the development sector, as well as the broader public.”

The innovations presented in this workshop will be shown in the YYP Innovation Lab at 2025GPDRR.

The 2025 Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Weeks (HNPW 2025) event was successfully concluded in Geneva, Switzerland. In this two-week high-level event, IRDR co-organized a session with Peaceland Foundation and MAP-AQ entitled: “Strengthening Anticipatory Action: Inclusive Approaches to Global Disaster Resilience Building”.
