ICSU's New Executive Director Appointed

The International Council for Science (ICSU) has appointed Dr. Steven Wilson as Executive Director. Dr. Wilson will provide important leadership as ICSU seeks to implement its newly approved second Strategic Plan 2012–2017.

IRDR ICoE-RIGCC Director Zhang Renhe Awarded AMS Sverdrup Gold Medal

The AMS recently announced the recipients of its 2027 awards and honors on its official website. Professor Zhang Renhe, Director of the IRDR International Centre of Excellence (ICoE) at Fudan, has been honored with the Sverdrup Gold Medal for his fundamental contributions to understanding Asian monsoon variability in connection with ocean-atmosphere interactions in the Northwest Pacific and coupled modes such as ENSO.

2026 BNU-IRDR Summer School on China's Governance and Development Concludes with Resounding Success

The jointly organised BNU-IRDR Summer School on "China's Governance and Development," concluded on 20 July 2026. The17-day programme brought together 43 early-career researchers and graduate students from 25 countries fostering cross-cultural dialogue on governance and sustainable development.
