The Agreement on IRDR Phase II became effective on May 11 2023 and it earmarked the beginning of the science journey of international research communities to pursue the risk-informed sustainable development and planetary health.

The Science Granting Councils Initiative (SGCI) Multilateral Research Call, backed by US$12 million, is now open to support African-led research consortia addressing the African Union's Science, Technology and Innovation Strategy for Africa (STISA-2034) This is an excellent chance for IRDR community to lead transformative research on some of the continent's most pressing challenges.

The International Science Council (ISC) and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) are seeking nominations of experts to review the second-order draft of the 2027 Global Sustainable Development Report (GSDR). Deadline: 31 July 2026.
