As climate change accelerates, the world faces unprecedented challenges from intensifying extreme weather events and expanding natural hazards. These compound disasters threaten lives, infrastructure, and global stability. In response to this urgent challenge, IRDR, as a key co-organizer, joins leading institutions—including the China-Pakistan Joint Research Center on Earth Sciences (CPJRC), UNESCO Chair for Mountain Disaster Risk Reduction, and Chinese Academy of Sciences—to host the 2nd International Conference on Climate Change and Disaster Risk (ICCCDR 2025) in Beijing. Building on the success of the 2023 Islamabad conference, this event will address urgent challenges of climate-induced disasters, emphasizing risk interconnectivity, governance, and resilience-building.

Under the theme “Climate Change and Disaster Risk, the conference will delve into critical topics such as the disaster effects of climate change, the formation and mechanisms of natural hazards, and innovative technologies for disaster risk prevention and mitigation. Discussions will also cover strategies for managing disaster risks and building resilient societies, responses to extreme disaster events, and pathways for regional sustainable development under climate change.

This event is designed for researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and students working in fields like climate science, disaster risk reduction, environmental engineering, geosciences, and public policy and governance. By bringing together diverse expertise, the conference aims to foster collaborative solutions to the growing challenges posed by climate-related disasters.

We cordially invite submissions of abstracts and participation from the global community. For detailed submission guidelines and important deadlines, please visit [https://ccdr2025.casconf.cn/page/1894271539365416961].
