IRDR Observes World Science Day for Peace and Development 2025
10 November 2025

IRDR joins the international scientific community in the observation of World Science Day for Peace and Development on Monday, 10 November 2025. This year's Day is being observed under the theme “Trust, Transformation, and Tomorrow: The Science We Need for 2050”.

Celebrated annually on 10 November, the observation of World Science Day for Peace and Development reaffirm the vital role of science in advancing peace, sustainable development, and the wellbeing of all.

The Integrated Research on Disaster Risk (IRDR) programme fully supports the World Science Day for Peace and Development within the context of disaster risk reduction (DRR). In the face of growing risks, the IRDR agenda will facilitate high quality inter- and trans-disciplinary knowledge production, to transition to a peaceful, safe, equitable and sustainable world.

We join with the International Science Council (ISC), one of the co-sponsors of the IRDR programme, in celebrating this day and commit to contribute to shaping a more just, sustainable, and peaceful future for all.
