An Open Letter for Basic Science for Sustainabel Development

The 4th World Science and Technology Development Forum was successfully held in Chengdu, China during November 26 to 28, 2022. The forum was co-sponsored by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the People's Government of Sichuan Province, and supported by UNESCO, the International Council for Science and the World Federation of Engineering Organizations.

The main forum, the World Digital Economy Forum and 16 sub-forums were held both online and offline. More than 300 world-renowned experts and scholars, including 7 Nobel Prize Laureates, 1 Turing Award winner and over 60 academicians and representatives of international organizations at home and abroad attended the Forum. More than 21 million experts attended online. The forum is a high-level, wonderful and successful academic event, and it has been fully recognized by leaders at all levels and all sectors of society. IRDR was invitied to support the Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development Initiative released on this forum.
