IRDR Workshop Summary - New Technology vs Disaster Risk Reduction: Opportunities and Emerging Risks

On 4 May 2023, IRDR held the online workshop on New Technology vs Disaster Risk Reduction: Opportunities and Emerging Risks, 8 speakers and over 108 attendees from about 52 countries got together and shared the perspectives on the topic of rapid technological advances and knowledge contribute to all aspects risk reduction.
The workshop is the first pre-session of IRDR 2023 Conference.

The Science Granting Councils Initiative (SGCI) Multilateral Research Call, backed by US$12 million, is now open to support African-led research consortia addressing the African Union's Science, Technology and Innovation Strategy for Africa (STISA-2034) This is an excellent chance for IRDR community to lead transformative research on some of the continent's most pressing challenges.

The International Science Council (ISC) and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) are seeking nominations of experts to review the second-order draft of the 2027 Global Sustainable Development Report (GSDR). Deadline: 31 July 2026.
