Theme&Concept note: Cultural Heritage Meets Resilience – Youth Innovation for Disaster Risk Reduction

IRDR and UNESCO Beijing Office coorganized the IRDR Young Scientists Lumos focusing on the intersection of cultural heritage, climate adaptation, and disaster risk reduction (DRR). This 90-minute interactive online workshop will spotlight innovative research and action from emerging scientists and professionals worldwide. Key areas of focus include: 

  1. Vulnerability assessment of tangible and intangible cultural heritage 

  1. Integrating traditional knowledge and advanced technologies for DRR 

  2. The role of culture in climate action through education, policy, and grassroots initiatives 


    How to Apply for Presentations 

    Young researchers, professionals, and practitioners are invited to submit applications, including a 250-word abstract, short bio (100 words), and contact information by 18 July 2025 to connect@irdrinternational.org, with the subject line: [Lumos] + Your Name. Selected speakers will be notified by 25 July 2025.
