The fourth issue of the IRDR newsletter, which covers the first quarter of 2026, January to March 2026, is now available. Highlights include:
the first online meeting of the year with representatives from IRDR's International Centres of Excellence (ICoEs);
the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Global Alliance of Disaster Research Institutes (GADRI);
the results of the programme's 2025 call for pilot study proposals; and
the holding of the 4th IRDR Young Scientists Lumos on 4 March 2026, under the theme, “Indigenous Knowledge for DRR - Bridging Wisdom and Innovation”.
As we move further into the implementation of the IRDR Action Plan, 2025-2027, the Integrated Research on Disaster Risk (IRDR) community continues to demonstrate that science, when mobilised collaboratively and inclusively, can meet the moment. The message from this issue is therefore very clear: science mobilised across generations, disciplines, and knowledge systems is our most powerful tool against all forms of disaster risk.
