The top two papers will be announced at the 2020 Asia Pacific Science and Technology Conference for Disaster Risk Reduction in Kuala Lumpur on March 16-17, 2020.

The APRU Multi-Hazards Program in collaboration with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is calling for research papers and case studies of “Non-Events” to share global success and investment in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR).

Based on the Sendai Framework for DRR, invest in DRR for resilience is one of the four urgent concerns needs to be addressed. Funding agencies in both philanthropy and government need comprehensive success measures to make informed and trusted funding decisions. By sharing evidence-based “non-event” case successes, decision-makers have the basis in which to invest in disaster prevention policy.
