12 February 2026

Deadline for Submission: Email for Submission: connect@irdrinternational.org

The IRDR Young Scientists Programme (YSP) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for its 7th batch. The programme invites passionate and forward-looking early-career researchers who are committed to advancing disaster risk reduction (DRR) through research that is integrated, innovative, and responsive to real-world needs.

Since its launch in 2016, the YSP has grown into a dynamic, interdisciplinary community of over 200 young researchers from more than 60 countries, contributing actively to DRR research, policy dialogue, and practice across regions.

Under IRDR Phase II, guided by A Framework for Global Science in Support of Risk-Informed Sustainable Development and Planetary Health, the programme recognizes young professionals as an essential force for engaging with complex, cascading, and emerging risks. Through the YSP, IRDR seeks to strengthen collaboration, build capacity, and cultivate leadership among the next generation of DRR scholars and practitioners.

We warmly encourage applications from young researchers across all disciplines relevant to DRR, and welcome diverse perspectives that can enrich the IRDR Young Scientists community.
